Chunar is a small town 29 kilometers from our guest house LIME-VILLA ON GANGA GHAT VARANASI INDIA usually booked through airbnb.com. There is a very big an old fort there of great historical importance.Many of our guests take a car to visit the fort.There are many deep tunnels on this fort believed to be used to escape when the enemies surrounded it for war. Women and children were escorted to safety. MANY TELEVISION SERIALS AND MOVIES USE THIS FORT FOR SHOOTING NOW.One T.V.serial called it Chunargarh, and a movie was made with Abhishek Bacchan and Rani Mukherji. It is really an enormous structure that stands bold against the strong waves of the river.The wall arround it is more than ten feet broad .We sit on it to take photographs.
