There is a very big an old fort there of great historical importance.Many of our guests take a car to visit the fort.There are many deep tunnels on this fort believed to be used to escape when the enemies surrounded it for war. Women and children were escorted to safety. MANY TELEVISION SERIALS AND MOVIES USE THIS FORT FOR SHOOTING NOW.One T.V.serial called it Chunargarh, and a movie was made with Abhishek Bacchan and Rani Mukherji. It is really an enormous structure that stands bold against the strong waves of the river.The wall arround it is more than ten feet broad .We sit on it to take photographs.

You are welcome any time to visit and see the hundreds of varieties of indian sweets the city specialises in.This is the cultural capital of India and sweets are part of the culture.Hindus have many gods and goddesses and nearly every day of the calendar is spent making some special food or sweet or preparing for one.Every date on the calendar has a story or a special kind of fast,abstinence from something or feast of some kind associated with bathing in the river. The main festivals are Dushehera,Diwali,and Holi during which the markets are fully decorated with sweet shops.These days of late Diabetic sweets are also available.

HENNA---the art of design on hands and feet called 'mehendi'.

Leaves from the henna tree are plucked and made into paste. This paste is used to decorate the hands and feet in India and Pakistan.Before the designs are made mehendi oil is applied to the skin.After the designs are made the wet mehendi is allowed to dry on the hands or feet.When it is totally dry a combination of lemon juice squeezed in sugar to make a paste is dabbed on with a piece of cotton.For the second time it is allowed to dry after which it is rubbed off dry without water and pure mustard oil is applied liberally.This is the procedure of application.The second step is the color deepening process.After the first ten hours we see an orange changing to a rich deep and dark rust color.Then during the next twelve hours the colour is supposed to become a dark maroon and often nearly purple.It is connected with all auspicious occasions like marriages festivals,'pujas'and parties.
