SONNET NO 49

Have you ever seen the Ghats?
Steps on the river side,
From one end of the city it starts,
To the other end in pride,

A cycle ricksha may astonish you,
The conveyance of the common man,
See a single man pulling two,
And cycling faster than he can,

Orange priests will be a surprise,
They exploit the devotees,
Without them no offering will rise,
No sacrifice will bring peace,

This is the scene at Varanasi,
                                                                                     Anciently known as "Holy Kashi"

(Search Google for LIME-VILLA guest house for bnb in Varanasi India and book a holiday)
